INSIDE THE STUDIO
Meet Kimlayn
Artist. Designer. Cultural Curator.
Jamaican born and Miami based, Kimlayn is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of Kimlayn | Cultured Art + Design Studio. Her creative work spans original fine art, fashion design, cultural storytelling, and mental wellness initiatives. With a focus on heritage, self-expression, and global influence, her practice brings together visual art, wearable design, and curated experiences that speak to both personal identity and collective memory.
Her work has been showcased at ArtServe, the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, RAW Artists in Miami and Los Angeles, and as part of a collaborative mural installation at Miami Dade College. She has exhibited custom accessories and hand-painted garments in fashion shows and has styled and designed garments for several well-known music artists. Her artwork is held in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
With a background in fashion design, Kimlayn’s creative journey is both refined and expansive. Through her studio, she leads four interconnected projects:
• Original Art, featuring layered, expressive paintings rooted in cultural symbolism
• Little Green Closet, a curated secondhand fashion collection blending sustainability with international style
• ADASSA 1930, a line of handmade accessories and wearable art inspired by generational legacy
• The Golden Notes Project, a youth-focused initiative that uses creative journaling and design to support teen mental wellness
Kimlayn draws inspiration from her Caribbean roots, her global travels, and her lived experience balancing art, family, and a career in aviation. Every piece she creates is infused with intention and meaning. Her studio is not only a reflection of her vision, but also a call to connect art, culture, and purpose in ways that heal, inspire, and endure.
