INSIDE THE STUDIO
Meet Kimlayn
Artist. Designer. Cultural Curator.
Jamaican born and Miami based, Kimlayn is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of Kimlayn | Cultured Art + Design Studio. Her work is rooted in storytelling, heritage, and personal style. She moves fluidly between original paintings, fashion design, curated vintage, handmade accessories, and creative wellness. Each piece she creates is layered with meaning and made to connect, whether through visual art, design, or intentional care.
Her creative path has led to exhibitions at ArtServe, Fort Lauderdale International Airport, RAW Artists in Miami and Los Angeles, and a collaborative mural installation at Miami Dade College. She has designed custom accessories and hand-painted garments featured in fashion shows, and has styled and created for several respected music artists. Her artwork is part of private collections across the United States and Europe.
With a background in fashion design, Kimlayn brings both intuition and intention to every project. Through her studio, she leads four distinct but connected expressions of her creative world:
• Original Art, featuring layered, expressive paintings inspired by cultural memory and rhythm
• Little Green Closet, a globally curated secondhand collection that blends sustainability with personal style
• ADASSA 1930, a handmade accessories line honoring craftsmanship, individuality, and family legacy
• The Golden Notes Project, a mental wellness initiative supporting teens through journaling and creative care
Inspired by her Caribbean roots, global travels, and lived experience balancing art, motherhood, and a career in aviation, Kimlayn creates with heart and purpose. Her studio is a reflection of the world she envisions—one where creativity is soulful, fashion is mindful, and art is a form of connection and care.
