SUPPORT THE KIT. SUPPORT THE TEEN.

Golden Notes isn’t just for teens — it’s shaped by them.

Each journal kit gives teens a place to express themselves through creativity, and helps fund programs that care for youth mental wellness.

Learn about the project

  • Why THE GOLDEN NOTES PROJECT Exists

The Golden Notes Project was created with love, for every teen who needs a place to just be.

It started from things I’ve seen, felt, and carried, both as a mother and as someone who cares deeply about the well-being of young people.

Each journal kit is meant to feel like a soft landing, a space to write, draw, or reflect without pressure. A space to slow down, express what’s inside, and connect with yourself in a way that feels comfortable and personal.

This project doesn’t replace therapy. But it does offer simple tools that can support emotional well-being and creative self-expression. And with every kit sold, we give back through donations, outreach, and future partnerships with youth organizations that show up for teens every day.

  • Each Golden Notes Kit is designed with intention, care, and creativity.
    Here’s what’s inside:

    • A custom A5 journal

    • Writing prompts to spark reflection

    • A full 4x6 sticker sheet with affirming words and mood-friendly art

    • A pen or pencil

    • A printed insert that reminds them they’re not alone

We’re working with teen feedback to make sure these tools feel helpful, not overwhelming. Every item in the kit has a purpose to support emotional clarity, self-awareness, and personal growth.

  • We’re committed to making these kits accessible to teens who need them most. That’s why a portion of every purchase goes toward:

    • Donating kits to youth-focused programs and safe spaces

    • Building partnerships with local organizations that support teen mental wellness

    • Hosting creative journaling workshops and community events

This is a long-term commitment. As we grow, so will our ability to reach more young people through thoughtful collaboration and real care.

If you know a nonprofit or school that would benefit from partnering with us, reach out. We’re always open to meaningful connections.

  • Some of our favorite covers were created by teens themselves.

We believe in lifting up young voices, not just as recipients of this project, but as contributors. Through open calls for art and design, we invite teens to submit cover ideas that reflect their experiences, creativity, and truth.

When we feature a teen-designed journal, we include their name (with permission) and a short note from them inside the cover. They’ll also receive a free kit and be celebrated as part of the Golden Notes creative community.

  • We feature a few teen-designed covers each season as limited editions. If you’re a teen artist who wants to use your voice through creativity, we’d love to see your work.

    Submission Requirements:

    • Ages: 13–19

    • Format: Digital art, scanned drawing, collage, or photography

    • Theme Ideas:
Healing, hope, identity, self-expression, or anything that feels real to you

    • Size/Layout: A5 vertical orientation (we’ll format it for print)

    • Include: Your first name, age (optional), and a short message or quote (1–3 sentences)

If selected, your cover will be featured on a future journal edition, and you’ll receive a free kit and a feature on our site and socials.

  • Is this therapy?
No. The Golden Notes Project is not a therapeutic program. While it doesn’t replace professional mental health support, it offers creative tools that can help teens process emotions, reflect, and care for their mental wellness.

    Who receives the donated kits?
We work with nonprofit organizations, group homes, and youth support programs to get these kits directly into the hands of teens. As our partnerships grow, we’ll share updates on where the kits are going.

Can I get involved or suggest a partnership?
Absolutely. If you’re part of a school, youth program, or wellness space that serves teens, we’d love to connect.
